Adult Education Opportunities

We are excited to announce our Fall 2010 Adult Sunday Morning and Mid-Week Education Opportunities!

Sunday Morning Opportunities

· “Jesus in the Gospels” Disciple Class 8:30-10:30 am, starting August 22, room TBD.  Teachers are Janet Alford and Ann Gessner.  Attention Parents: Childcare at 8:30 am until the Sunday school hour will be provided.  Please contact Janet Alford at jga@comporium.net for more information.

· “Koinonia” (the Greek word for fellowship) Sunday School class meets at 10:00 am in Unity Hall (August 29) and Room 312 thereafter.   This fall, we will study Proverbs.  Throughout the year, we will study prayer, the Sabbath, Life in Balance, and the book of Daniel.  Class members are a fun group of 20’s, 30’s and 40’s.  Classes will be led by: Stephanie and Stewart Nix; Kim and Ben Price; Stephanie and J.T. Trueb; and Megan and Chuck Welfare.

· Small Group Bible Study, primarily facilitated by Jill Duffield and Dan Holloway, will meet at 10:00 am in Room 210.  This class will focus on how Christ’s disciples are to live: instructions, encouragement, and promise.

· Large Discussion Class will be a study on the lives of great Christians, and will be led by Chappy Bradner. This class will meet at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall.

· Small Group Bible Study will meet at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall Parlor, and will be led by three primary teachers: Joe Bonds, John Proctor and Murray White. This year’s topics are Genesis, Philippians, Galatians, and the Gospel of John.

Mid-Week Bible Study Opportunities

1.  Disciple Bible Study Classes are an opportunity to dig deep into scripture with a small group of dedicated students and teachers. This fall there are several mid-week Disciple classes being offered:

· Monday mornings.  This Bible study will be a invitation to discover the Old Testament.  Room, time, teachers, and dates TBD. Check back soon for more information.

· Thursday evenings in room 210, 7-8:30 pm. This Disciple I will be taught by Jim Boyd, starting September 9.

· Thursday evenings in room 312, 7-8:30 pm. This offering is an Advanced Disciple Class, and will be a study of the Gospel of John. Primary teachers are Susan Mobley, Jill Duffield and Brenda Mullis. This class will begin on September 9.

2.  In addition to the Disciple Bible Studies, there will be a Wednesday morning Bible study of the Gospel of Luke. This class meets from 9:30-10:30 am  in room 210, and begins Sept. 8. Jerry Brady is the coordinator of this class.
