Second Harvest Partners

This is a program with the overall goal of decreasing hunger in York County. Second Harvest Partners are working to develop a faith-based strategy for identifying root issues of hunger in our community. Short-term assistance is provided by food delivered on a tractor-trailer and distributed to those in need. Long-term assistance is provided by development of a strategy that empowers people to become self-sufficient. Unity volunteers are asked to partner with Second Harvest and with other congregations in our area on the assigned work day to assist with organization, unloading the truck of food, filling grocery bags, assisting with parking, greeting guests, and distributing food to individuals.
